During the Ancien Rome thousand-year old history, from the seven kings of Rome to the fall of the Roman Empire, culinary habits have changed a lot. Contamination with other population and the introduction of new ingredients played an important role in creating new food preferences and tastes among people.
Our historical workshop usually takes place in castles or historical villas and are designed by university professors, important chefs and wine experts. They put together their knowledge and made an accurate, unique reconstruction of the culinary setting of Latin people: recipes, beverages, etiquette, traditions, curiosities and much more.
Participants will choose to follow the historical logical thread and live, through tastes and manners, the authentic food tradition of Ancient Latins or to taste an adapted, modern version of old dishes.
For those who love comparing, we offer the possibility to taste both version of dishes (traditional and adapted) and see how tastes changed during more than a thousand year.
Dishes are served following the order of a meal as we know it today: starters, main dishes and desserts. You won't go home on an empty stomach!
At the end of the experience all participants will receive a recipe book.
